I recently started using Curlook’s Curly Hair Shampoo, and it’s been fantastic for my curls. The sulfate-free formula gently cleanses without stripping my hair of its natural oils. The shampoo’s nourishing ingredients like niacinamide and creatine have made my hair feel stronger and more hydrated. I love how my curls look more defined and less frizzy after each wash. Plus, it’s color-safe and free from harmful chemicals, making it perfect for daily use. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enhance their curls!

I am so happy with this shampoo. You can tell right away that this is a more concentrated formula than other shampoos because you don’t need to use a lot when you are lathering. It gives a very luxurious foam that is super gentle on your hair and scalp. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

this shampoo just gives me the best softener to my hair, I love the foam and the sensation to clean scalp . Love it .

Works well, hair feels conditioned after shampooing. VERY strong scent.
I have somewhat mixed feelings on this curl shampoo. For reference, I have fine, ultra dense (3 heads worth) of 3b/3c spirals, ringlets & corkscrews that hit the small of my back when pulled/straightened, and mid shoulder blades when fresh & springy (so approx half the length). It’s a lot to deal with & washing it is a production that takes 2+ hours, and I can usually only physically manage it once a week or so. All that to say that the right shampoo is an absolute necessity if I want my hair to last until I have the time & energy for another wash! Thankfully, so far I’m pretty happy with this shampoo. It lathers very well and while it cleans surprisingly well, it doesn’t strip my hair while doing it, but actually seems to add a good amount of moisture & slip to it instead! I’m actually able to work my fingers through it while it’s sudsy, and it feels soft & almost conditioned rather than straw-like after rinsing, which is a wonderful thing when dealing with so much hair. I would like to try it with the conditioner, to see if it ups the slip & moisturizing levels significantly, but it worked well in conjunction with my usual products. Once dry, my curls turned out shiny & bouncy, though I do have a bit more frizz than usual (easily combated & tamed with a bit of oil). I also really appreciate that this is made in Canada without sulfates, parabins, silicones, etc (ie curly girl approved, if that matters to you). There are a couple of things I didn’t love… There was a funky yellow-ish ring of I don’t know what around the safety seal (do love that it was safety sealed!). It looked like an oil or wax of some sort, and it was also around the gasket of the cap, which made me extra happy that it was safety sealed so it didn’t contaminate the shampoo itself. I was able to wash whatever it was off of the gasket, so it wasn’t the biggest problem, but still… Ick. Then there’s the scent. It’s a strong, perfumed scent that reminds me of something I can’t quite place… Something along the lines of Westin White tea scent maybe? It’s not unpleasant – the opposite, really, it’s just very strong and the strength of it is surprising. I can see it being an issue for someone with fragrance sensitivities or allergies. The scent does dissipated after rinsing (or I got very used to it & became nose blind), and either blended well with my other products or disappeared entirely, so not a long term thing, but it’s front & center while shampooing. Finally, the shampoo is fairly pricey. It was $20 when I ordered, and is currently $15, which is more reasonable – I’ve spent more on shampoos & products (the joy of being a curly girl. Ha.), but I’m never thrilled about it & the product has to be pretty extraordinary for me to repurchase. If I decide it’s worth every penny after I’ve finished half the bottle, I’ll update the review.

Lightweight Shampoo That Keeps Curls Consistent
I’ve used this a few times now on my 2C/3A hair, and it’s lighter than most sulfate-free shampoos I’ve tried. I needed a little extra on buildup days to get full lather, but it rinsed out easily and didn’t leave residue. It had just enough slip to move through my curls without causing tangles.
My curls held their usual shape through day two and looked about the same on day three as they do with my go-to shampoo. The definition stayed consistent, and the texture felt clean without going flat or dry.
MeMyselfandI (Amazon Customer) –
Ok shampoo but not a fan of the scent
While I didn’t feel this shampoo did much to help my curls I did find it gentle enough that it didn’t strip my hair and leave it like Velcro. I need a little bit of “slip” to my shampoo otherwise my hair becomes one big tangle. So for a sulfate free shampoo I thought it did a good job of that. And while I didn’t necessarily find it moisturizing it didn’t suck the life out of my hair. I didn’t think it was an exceptional shampoo but felt it cleaned well without damaging my strands.
The fragrance is where this shampoo really misses the mark. I wouldn’t say it’s a strong scent but the scent is just weird to put it bluntly. It is ever so slightly floral but it smells like chemicals to me. It’s neither strong enough to add to the experience nor strong enough to leave my hair nicely fragranced, which I do prefer. Although since the scent isn’t great I suppose that might be a good thing in this case? It really does small off to me, almost “plasticky.”
For the price of the shampoo I would expect either a better performance or a much nicer fragrance than the off putting scent it has. So in the end, it’s ok but not particularly pleasant to use. Personally I think there are much better products for the money.

Great texture, good packaging
This is a great shampoo overall, although because it’s shampoo, it rinses fully from my hair, so I’m not 100% convinced it does anything for curl or wave. But it get my hair and scalp clean, with a delicate aroma and good suds. It rinses well, and leaves my hair light and ready for conditioner. The bottle is a good texture for use in the shower– with a grippy, almost rubbery feel, making it really easy to handle with wet hands. I’m a fan.

Gentle shampoo that keeps curls soft and defined
I’ve tried a lot of curly hair shampoos, and this one feels clean and lightweight without stripping my hair. It lathers just enough and leaves my curls soft instead of frizzy or dry. I really like that it’s free of sulfates and silicones, so it doesn’t leave any buildup or residue. My scalp feels fresh after each wash, and my curls stay defined with a healthy bounce.
The scent is subtle and pleasant, not overpowering, and a little goes a long way. It pairs well with my regular conditioner and seems to help my curls hold their shape better between washes. It’s gentle enough to use several times a week, and I appreciate that it’s made in Canada with clean ingredients.

Lovely shampoo
This shampoo has a light rose scent, which is wonderful to enjoy while showering. A small amount goes a long way, and it lathers up nicely. It rinses out well and doesn’t leave my hair feeling greasy. While it didn’t reduce frizz, it did maintain my curls. Overall, I really enjoyed using this product.

Curlook shampoo
I like this shampoo, it’s very lightweight formula and just leaves it feeling clean and hydrated without any oiliness or any residue left behind. It’s free of sulfates, silicone, dyes, parabens, DEA, and phthalate.it doesn’t have a noticeable scent and is clear so I feel it works well for sensitive skin. It seems to be a high quality shampoo, I haven’t noticed any shine added to my hair but it’s also not at the top of my list of needs from a shampoo so I’m very satisfied with it.

Not a fan of the scent
I am always down to try something new for my curly hair so I ordered this. The shampoo is a pretty good quality. It does help enhance my curls and leaves my hair feeling clean. It seems to leave some moisture without stripping my hair and that leaves a nice texture to my hair. Overall it is effective, but I do not care for the scent. Because of this I will not be purchasing again.

Works great at enhancing and hydrating curls but the scent is very powerful and floral
I actually really like this shampoo and it is priced similar to other popular brands I buy for curled hair. It looks more like gel and not runny and a little goes a long ways. It provides a great lather and the ingredients are gentle and not heavy which is important for curls. I only wish the scent was not so overpowering. I don’t mind scented products but floral is a bit much for a shampoo. It works well and enhances curls and my hair felt very hydrated and healthy once it dried. If this brand comes out with a softer scent like coconut or tropical or even an unscented bottle, I will continue to buy.
Lola Kitty (Amazon Customer) –
Strongly scented at first but then does fade out
Yes, this Curlook shampoo is heavily scented when you smell it from the bottle. So if you don’t like strongly fragranced items, I wouldn’t recommend it. However, once you actually dispense it into your hair, the scent becomes much lighter and more pleasant. What remains after you’ve washed your hair is barely noticeable.
I found it gentle, and it helped maintain and define my wavy/curly hair. I also appreciate that it’s sulfate-free and made in Canada.

Works GREAT – but the scent is STRONG!
I love a good curl shampoo. What I dont love is a super strong perfume smell. The smell is evident literally when you take off the plastic wrapping around the outside of the bottle. If you are bothered by strong perfume smell, this shampoo is not for you. It will leave the scent behind in your hair as well. However, as far as the effectiveness, its great. It lathers up really well! It washed out well and I didnt feel any greasiness after air drying. My hair didnt feel weighted down either. My slight curls were more evident and looked really nice. I really wish they offered their shampoo in an unscented version! For value of money, yes, you definitely get a great deal – as long as you dont mind a strong scent.

STRONG fragrance
I knew I was in trouble when I could smell this shampoo as soon as I opened the box. The scent of the fragrance is STRONG—so strong that I can’t use it. However, my teenage son, who also has wavy hair like mine, has been using it and likes it. He says it’s “fine,” which for him is high praise, lol. It leaves his hair very solved, so it’s pretty moisturizing, and his curls look great. I think the shampoo has a good moisture level, given how well it takes care of his curls. And it certainly effective at both cleaning his hair and helping his curls. It’s also in a good-sized bottle, so the value for the money isn’t bad for this type of specialty product. But I can’t recommend it more highly due to the strong smell of

Still have frizz
Sulfate, paraben and silicone free is a big plus for me. I have wavy/curly hair and struggle to find products that enhance my curls. This shampoo does a good job of making my curls more defined (provided I style it properly). I do still have some frizz and have yet to find a product that handles/reduces it. This leaves hair soft and feeling moisturized. THe scent is neither good nor bad for me. I find it isn’t too strong so I don’t really feel any particular way about it. I think this product is an average value not drugstore prices but less than higher end stuff.

Highly perfumed
Curly Hair Shampoo | Sulfate-Free – 400ml (13.5 oz) | Cleanses, Moisturizes, Maintains, and Defines Curls | Made in Canada Curly Hair Products… First off I must write about the fragrance – as soon as I opened the bubble-envelope I could smell the scent of the shampoo which is not a good sign for me. Not that it smells bad, it’s just very strong.
Despite the overpowering fragrance, the shampoo is effective in keeping my long silver curls hydrated and easy to define. My hair felt nice and clean with no heaviness to weigh it down, however the strength of the fragrance is oppressive and really not my style.
Recommended, being aware the it is strongly scented.

Curly hair shampoo
Wow – that smell!! The scent in this is so strong that you can smell it as soon as you open the package it was shipped in. The shampoo works decently for cleansing the hair without making it feel stripped or dried out. I don’t really know how much curly hair shampoo really helps with maintaining curls, with the exception of just not causing additional dryness in the hair. I have used this for a couple of weeks and don’t really see any difference from using my regular shampoo.

Lathers well but doesn’t tame frizz
I’ve been using the Curlook shampoo and conditioner together but haven’t noticed any major improvements. I have long, wavy hair with some frizz, and this hasn’t made a difference. It does lather well, and I don’t need to use much, which is a plus. The scent reminds me of a strong rose chemical concentrate but fades quickly, so it doesn’t bother me.

Seems pretty good, but I’d prefer less fragrance
This CURLOOK Curly Hair Shampoo is ok, but I’m not sure it’s right for me. I have to be honest that for curly hair, shampoo is rarely the make or break element in a hair care routine. As long as it does not dry hair out too much, cause build up, or cause it to fall out or have some other shockingly bad result, it is not the thing I notice much, nor what I splurge on. Conditioner is really where it’s at, to remove knots – and more than that, whatever styling agent afterward.
It is certainly true that I need typically to buy 3x the conditioning products than I do shampoo, simply to moisturize the hair and get all the knots out. I know this is common for most women with curly hair… especially when it is either long, or very thick.
I’d be interested to try the conditioner and styling products to know if they are a good fit. But per the shampoo, I was quite worried to try something from a company with almost no reviews and no clear reputation in the US. I did ultimately give it a try, and my experience was thankfully, that all my hair was still in my head afterward! I know some of you know what I mean, that that is a genuine concern. Past that, this shampoo did not really foam up much. I find though that none of them seem to anymore, after many of the worst chemicals have been removed in recent years. The feel of my hair afterward though is clean and light, and so I do think it did it’s job, as I had done some tough physical work before washing and really did need to wash my hair out.
My concern is more with the fragrance… which is flowery, and vaguely pleasant, but which I found to be too much. I prefer lighter, fresher or fruity scents personally, but ultimately I don’t want a lot of fragrance in my shampoo, as if the conditioner and styling do a good job, my hair shouldn’t smell like the shampoo by the time I’m done, anyway. The fewer chemicals that can be in my hair products also, the better.
My curl pattern, for reference, is mostly 3c, with some 4a, and 3b. But my hair is very thin and breakable, and it’s also long, so the more products weigh it down, the more it starts to get a looser curl pattern and to appear greasy and thin and scraggly. Not a good look. So anything that dries it out, or adds buildup, is a big problem. At the same time, inherently any curly hair is going to need moisture. This is why conditioners are really the test for a curly hair line of products, to see if they really understand how to strike that difficult balance. I was worried when this shampoo did not foam up really that it might be drying my hair out. But my hair then took my Knot Today (which is my present preferred conditioner, due to detangling abilities), and came out soft and in good shape. So there was no issue.
I cannot say if someone with mostly 4a-4c curl patterns would find this to work for them. But certainly I would expect you’d need a good moisture regimen, in addition to your shampoo.
For me personally, while this seems effective, I also find it to be very pricey. It appears to be made in Canada. Unless I find it to perform miracles over time, I’m unlikely to find it to be a good value at the present $20. But as noted, if I find the conditioner or other styling products to be effective, I would pay that for them, since they’re more important. Or anything at all that keeps my knots to a minimum, which is painful, costs a huge amount of time and productivity, and a ton of hair loss.
I owe reviews quickly, but I will continue to test this out, and see if I notice any changes over time. If it’s anything dramatic, I’ll update this review later on.

Love the scent. Doesn’t weigh my hair down.
I love this shampoo and it’s one of the best I’ve used for my very fine, thinning, wavy/soft curly hair. It leaves my hair feeling so soft and bouncy without weighing it down. I often have the problem of having special shampoo for curly hair being too heavy or leaving too much weight, but not this one. My hair looks shiny and has great body.
The scent is strong, but I absolutely love it. I plan on getting the conditioner as well and hope it smells as nice.
The shampoo lathers so well and rinses well.

Gentle effective cleansing
I have somewhat difficult to manage curly coily hair that is a combination of 3B and 3C so I’m always on the lookout for shampoo that can cleanse my hair without being too harsh. This curly hair shampoo is working great so far and gives my scalp and hair a nice clean feeling without being harsh. It is sulfate free and very gentle I’m actually able to work through my hair without it getting tangled up. There are no silicones which I really like because it doesn’t build up on my hair. After I lathered up and rinsed my hair was refreshed with a gorgeous shine and softness to it. The smell is also very pleasant and quite strong which I like. I was going around all day smelling my hair because it smells so sweet. I would love to have this in the conditioner as well.

Love my curls!
As someone with a mix of 3B, 3C, and even some 4A and 4C curl textures, finding a product that caters to my combination hair can be challenging at times. The Curllook shampoo and conditioner work well together. The shampoo cleans but doesn’t strip my hair of the natural oils and moisture. The conditioner hydrates and helps to detangle my curls. Both are floral scented but didn’t seem like it as really strong to me since these are wash off products. My hair feels soft and clear of tangles.

Leaves hair feeling light and clean! The scent is not for everyone. Part of a 3 step product line
Like the other products in the curlook curly hair line (cream, conditioner), this shampoo has a floral scent that is not for everyone. It is quite strong when you first apply the product but does fade as your hair dries. It is the same across all the complimentary products and just plain might not be for everyone.
My wife described the shampoo as “gentle” and it did leave her hair feeling light and her curls defined. She liked that this was sulfate and paraben free; it foamed up well and rinsed out completely. The lightweight feel may be due to the reduction of additives.
When used with the other products in this line, the conditioner and leave-in cream, my wife was very happy with the end result. The only complaint was that while her hair was lightweight and curly afterwards, it didn’t have a healthy shine. She felt that it looked a bit dull and this could be because some of the additives, like silicone, have been removed.

Very Happy With The Performance Of This Shampoo And The Fact It’s Free Of Many Harmful Chemicals
While my wife doesn’t have particularly curly hair, she often uses curl enhancing shampoos and conditioners to enhance the natural waves in her hair. The fact that this product is free of sulphates, silicone, dyes, and parabens (not to mention a number of other nasty chemicals) convinced her that this was certainly worth a try.
The shampoo arrives double sealed (a removable foil seal inside the bottle lid as well as a plastic seal over the mouth of the bottle) to prevent leaks. The dispensing mechanism is extremely easy to use making this product a great choice for anyone with dexterity issues; unlike many containers of shampoo on the market the bottle is made of very sturdy plastic.
This shampoo itself is a thick clear gel that produces a nice rich lather. It has a definite floral scent which remained noticeable for the whole day. Its moisturizing and curl defining properties worked as advertised, providing full, gentle waves in my wife’s hair. Happily, it had no effect on her dyed hair colour.
I really like the fact that this is a product from a Canadian manufacturer; not only do I like supporting Canadian products, it also makes me feel confident that it meets the product standards I expect.
Even with a 25% discount, at its current price of $18 CAD this shampoo is fairly expensive. That being said, the fact that it produces results and is free of many of the harmful chemicals so often found in shampoos makes it money well spent. Recommended.

Works, But Smells Weird
This shampoo doesn’t lather quite as much as sulfate shampoos, but that’s to be expected with this being sulfate-free. It just means you may need to use a little more product.
The shampoo feels pleasant on my hair, providing a gentle wash. Unfortunately, however, the shampoo does not smell pleasant. I don’t really know how to describe the smell exactly. The closest I can come up with is a musty, wilted floral scent mixed with a bit of something sour or bitter in there, but that doesn’t quite capture it. All I know is, it doesn’t smell good.
While the scent is strong, I wouldn’t say it’s a crazy strong scent, though. In my opinion, it’s fairly comparable to drugstore shampoos, but since most of those have a pleasant scent, they’re easy to take in. I think the scent of this shampoo may just seem very strong to some people because when something smells unpleasant, even just a little bit of it can be overwhelming. The first couple or so times I washed my hair with this it made me feel a bit nauseous and like I wanted to gag. So subjectively, it’s too “strong” because I’d rather not smell that at all, but objectively, the potency of the scent seems to me to be in the normal range.
Although it wasn’t a pleasant experience washing my hair with this (smell-wise), outside of the shower it does smell a lot better. I barely notice the scent at all and after it dries, it’s completely gone. By contrast, I’ve used pleasant smelling shampoos before (might’ve been either Tresemme or Garnier) that just end up making my hair smell weird when it dries, like wet dog. This seems to be the opposite of that, where it smells weird in the shower, but actually leaves a nice or neutral smell on your hair afterwards. Between the two, I do prefer shampoos that smell pleasant in the shower, simply because I’m not in the habit of regularly sniffing my hair and shower experience is more important to me.
Ultimately, the function is there, as this shampoo did make my hair feel soft and clean without being too drying. It’s just the scent that has a weird thing going on. Too weird, unfortunately, for using this as a shampoo to be a pleasant experience. I did try using it as a body wash and that was a lot easier on my nose, so that may be an option to consider if you find it hard to stomach the smell. Personally, because I did like the way this shampoo felt on my hair and I wanted to take advantage of the benefits, I decided to just try to muster through and after a few washes with it, I have gotten a little bit used to the odd scent. I don’t find myself feeling nauseous anymore. Still don’t like the scent, though.

Smells terrible
This shampoo is heavily scented and it smells so bad. If i were to give the scent a name, it would be “a tissue from grandma’s purse.” It’s a very old fashioned smell, and not in a good way. When I first put it in my bathroom (closed) I had to take it out because I could smell it through the container. It was so bad that I really didn’t want to try it, but I did. I was impressed to find that this produces a thick foamy lather, like that of high quality products. It rinses clean and thankfully the scent rinses away too. I did not follow up with conditioner from this same 3 step program, but I used my own that smells nice. I can tell that this is an effective curl shampoo based on how my waves reacted with lots of definition. My day two brush out before heat styling was really soft and smooth with no frizz. So this is a good product, but I would never have bought it in store because it smells so bad, and I could not add a conditioner with that same smell in case that clings to the hair.

Massive Volume Boost for Wavy Hair
I selected the Curlook Curly Hair Shampoo for my wife, who actually has wavy hair, and we’ve been absolutely blown away by the results! While this product is designed for curly hair, it’s a game-changer for enhancing volume in wavier textures.
From the first wash, her hair felt incredibly clean but not stripped—a difficult balance to strike. The sulfate-free formula lathers nicely, and the scent is pleasant without being overpowering. The real magic, though, is the volume. Her waves have a noticeable lift and bounce that she hasn’t achieved with her previous shampoos. It manages to moisturize and define her waves, leading to less frizz and a much healthier, fuller look overall.

Works great, Smells rank
This shampoo works really well for curly hair. My curls have never looked better, but the smell is pretty rough. Honestly, it kind of smells like old people or something. I still keep using it because it actually does the job.

Suds Without the Suffering
This shampoo actually respects my hair, something I can’t say for most products that claim to be “gentle” while secretly plotting to turn my hair into hay. It lathers up just enough to make me feel clean, but not so much that I start worrying about what it’s stealing from my scalp. When I rinse it out, my hair feels refreshed, soft, and, dare I say, hydrated, instead of squeaky and fragile like a broken promise.
The best part? It cleans without that post-wash panic where you reach for five leave-ins and a prayer to fix the damage. It’s sulfate-free, smells nice without being suffocating, and actually leaves my curls looking alive instead of emotionally drained. Basically, it’s the kind of shampoo that makes you want to wash your hair on purpose.

Light, Pleasant Scent. Adds Body and Bounce to Your Curls
This CURLOOK Curly Hair Shampoo helps remove styling product build up and impurities from your hair without stripping natural nutrients so your curls will have more body and bounce after using it. The shampoo is Paraben free, Silicone free and does not contain any Phthalates. It’s color safe so you can use it every day and has Niacinamide to help strengthen your hair.
It has a light amber color and a gel like consistency and lathers really well so you don’t have to use a lot of it. It rinses out completely so there’s no leftover residue to weigh your hair down afterwards. It leaves your hair looking silky smooth and feeling soft to the touch with more body and fullness. The scent is fairly light with floral tones and lasts quite a long time afterwards.
The 400ml bottle is a good size, but it is a little more expensive than other curl enhancing shampoos.

Soap lather is nice but didn’t enjoy the smell
Me and my daughter have been trying out this new shampoo. I have thicker hair and she has thinner hair so it was a good test of the two. This shampoo lathered up really well and wasn’t runny at all. A good thick texture and washed out well. I didn’t love the smell but loved the end result. Left my hair soft and shiny. Will definitely recommend especially because it was made it Canada.

It works
The shampoo works for my dry curly hair. It cleanses without stripping, though i definitely need conditioner and my post shower routine. There is a good foaming action if that’s your preference. The scent is one that seems to be very subjective and hit or miss, you either like it or hate it. I don’t mind it, especially as thus is a wash off product.

Good quality but smells kind of gross
This shampoo is thick and lathers nicely. I don’t know if it helped my curls but it did leave my hair feeling better after using it. Only thing I didn’t like is the smell, it isn’t awful but it isn’t nice either. The smell won’t stop me from using it cause it is a nice shampoo.

Additionally, this is a Next-Day delivery item with Prime, perfect for a last-minute gift or purchase.
After just a few uses, my daughter’s hair feels smoother, shinier, and easier to manage — no doubt the formula delivers on that part. It leaves a silky finish without weighing my hair down, and I’ve actually received a few compliments on how healthy it looks.
That said, the scent isn’t my favourite. It’s not terrible, just… off. I was expecting a clean coconut or botanical aroma, but it leans more synthetic than natural. Luckily, the smell doesn’t linger once your hair dries.
Overall, performance-wise, it’s great — visible shine and softness right away. If they ever tweak the fragrance, this would easily be a five-star product.

Not exceptional but it does do well
I am not sure how to rate this shampoo yet because I haven’t used the entire bottle to know if it is with the price and does what it claims but I can say what I have experienced so far. It gives a good clean, the smell if subjective. It depends on what you like. The price is high. But I haven’t had any negative experience thus far.

Noticable results
I love the scent of this shampoo. If you are sensitive to scents, this may not be the product for you as this does have a beautiful scent to it. The shampoo really surprised me. After one use, I noticed a difference in my curls. It actually looks like I put some kind of gel or cream in my hair to style it as the curls look more controlled and shiny. Really happy with how my hair looks straight from the shower. Definitely I am going to be looking into the conditioner from the same company as once winter hits, my curls do take a hit with the dry air.

A Gentle and Hydrating Shampoo
The curly hair shampoo feels gentle, hydrating, and easy to rinse out. It came in an attractive bottle that was sealed properly and easy to open. The texture is smooth and creamy, and it lathers lightly without feeling harsh. A small amount goes a long way, which is nice for a 400 ml bottle.
It cleans well without stripping moisture. After rinsing, my hair felt soft and manageable rather than dry or tangled. It also left curls looking a bit more defined once dry. There’s a scent that’s a bit strange but not overpowering. The formula seems mild enough for frequent use, especially for anyone avoiding sulfates.
On the downside, it’s not very rich. If your hair is very thick or coarse, you’ll probably still need a conditioner afterward to keep it fully moisturized. It’s better suited for light to medium curls than tight or dry ones. Overall, this shampoo is a good everyday option for maintaining healthy curls.

Works well but has an odd scent
This shampoo is light and makes my hair soft and hydrated. I have used it a couple of times. and it does make my hairs look smoother and helps defines my curl a bit. Its gentle and paraben free, silicone free and does not contain any Phthalates. It has clean ingredients and all are listed on the bottle. It is also color safe and has niacinamide which helps in strengthening the hair. what i noticed while using is it doesn’t cleanses very deeply. it has a very gentle and soft shampoo formula. Its a like gel consistency. I didn’t feel any greasiness after air drying. The bottle quantity is also generous. The only thing i didn’t like about this shampoo and the smell, its a bit weird and not pleasant. I was expecting a coconut or aromatic kind of fragrance but its weird. Apart from that, it works well, especially if you pair it with a good conditioner or leave in. Overall , its a decent shampoo but there are plenty of improvement that can be done in core product.

3/5 ⭐
Product arrived as shown in the advertisement and in protective packaging. Comes with a foil seal underneath the cap to prevent any spilling. The shampoo lathers great and a little amount of goes a long way. Does a good job at removing buildup of previous hair products and leaves you feeling clean. I’m honestly not a huge fan of the scent but not so much that I wouldn’t continue to use. It has a very strong scent, the first thing that comes to my mind is that old perfume your grandma would wear. As strong as it is while washing, it mostly disappears once the hair is dried. My hair felt super soft after using and much less frizzy. As for curl defining I don’t think it did much improvement for my hair. That being said I did only use the shampoo, not the conditioner or any other products in this line. So I will give some grace on that factor. Regardless of the curls I enjoyed using this shampoo and the other benefits it’s had on my hair.

Worked well for very long wavy hair, but overly expensive
I have hip-length, very long wavy hair. Because of my hair’s length, it gets weighed down very easily. I’ve recently been trying to brush style it upside down (brush it over the back of my head while my head is flipped upside down while it’s dry and then wash, condition, and add leave-in products all while my hair is upside down and brush with a curl wet brush, scrunch it, and plop it on a microfiber hair towel upside down, and air dry it overnight). While this technique has been giving me really good root volume, my waves have gotten kind of squished/flattened out using this technique.
Out of the Curlock line, I found the shampoo worked the best for me. It gave my hair a nice clean feeling without being too heavy, and it seemed to help with volume at the roots. (My hair is not fully dried in the video). It lathered well and rinsed out easily, which I liked. The scent is light and rose-like, not fruity. I liked the smell. But I’m wondering if the volume is from my new styling method and the shampoo isn’t really doing anything.
The other products in the line, the conditioner and styling cream, did not work well for me at all (dried out my hair ends). I don’t see myself repurchasing the shampoo because at the current price of $24 Canadian, it’s too pricey for a shampoo that didn’t completely wow me, but it’s definitely the best out of the Curlook products I tried. I’ll probably use up the bottle, but I don’t think I’d repurchase.
This product also had the best packaging. The bottle had a safety seal on it and a screw-on squeeze bottle top, which I love for liquid products getting shipped to me. I also really love that it’s a Canadian brand

Ooh, That Smell…
This shampoo wants to live in a world with other specialty, salon-exclusive curl shampoos that are ordered from their own websites. I make this assumption because of the price. Curlook’s price is well above the big box store name brand curl offerings and more in line with the salon shampoos, only I don’t think the product is ready to complete on that echelon. The shampoo does not have a pleasent odor, and it leaves your hair smelling of a grandma’s potpourri dish–its way too perfume-y. I cannot overstate how off-putting the smell is. The shampoo itself works well beyond the odor, leaving your curls springy and defined. It does a decent job, and works just as well as the expensive salon brands.
Im going to dock the product two stars because of the overpowering, off-putting, perfume-y aroma. If you can get past it, you have a good budget alternative here.

Nice scent, good clean.
This is a good shampoo if you have frizzy hair, like I do. I mean, it’s curly hair, or supposed to be, but usually just ends up a frizzy mess.
This shampoo goes a long way so you don’t need to use a lot like you do with some. It’s expensive but since you use less I’m going to say it balances out price wise.
It suds up nicely and I found it rinsed out well.
I really like the scent but it’s not strong or overpowering. I also use the conditioner and even with both products, I find the scene left on my hair isn’t strong.
Lastly, and most importantly, it calmed my hair. I’ve lost some of the frizzy and it’s made it manageable. It’s almost like it’s smoothed some of the curl out which has actually helped.
I’m giving this product 5 stars because it works.

Great for Curly/Wavy Hair
As someone with wavy to curly hair, I always struggle to find products that work. Curlook’s curly hair shampoo is great! It is clear, sulfate free and doesn’t leave any residue in my hair. I paired it with Curlook’s curly hair conditioner and curl cream and WOW my hair was the best it has looked in years!
The only drawback is it has a very strong floral scent so if that’s not your jam you may not enjoy it.

Washes well, works well for my curls.
For context I have naturally curly hair, about mid length that is about a 3A curl pattern with some 3B and some straighter pieces mixed in. It is more or less defined depending on what products that I have used in my hair on wash day and what I did to try it, air dry or using a diffuser attachment on my hair dryer. It is relatively dry as curls tend to be.
So first off I used the shampoo, conditioner and curl cream from this Curlook Curly hair line of products. The shampoo has a nice scent, a little strong when I first opened it but it does not tend to cling to my hair so I don’t find it too bad at all.
The Shampoo does a fantastic job cleaning my hair and scalp and it rinses out perfectly every time. It also does not strip or dry out my hair.
I really like that its a Canadian made product and so far I am liking all three of these products and will purchase again as long as they continue to work well for me.

Good Product
This hair shampoo comes with seal which would prevent leaking. The shampoo itself is gel type which could prevent over dispensing. It does not have strong smell. You would feel deep clean after rinse off with water and the hair feels fresh and smooth.

Cleans well
The bottle looks beautiful and the dispenser works great. After shampooing the hair feels clean and the scent is nice and not too strong. Used it for perm hair along with a bit of conditioner after.

It’s gentle
The texture feels rich, and the scent is fresh without being overpowering. It cleanses well without stripping moisture, leaving my hair soft, hydrated, and easy to detangle. I’ve noticed my curls look more defined and bouncy after every wash.

Curls look better
This shampoo leaves my hair feeling really clean without drying it out. My waves stay defined and soft after each wash, and it lathers nicely. It smells great, is easy to dispense, and I haven’t had any bad reactions so far.
